Fritz Haussmann Coffee pot in Bauhaus design
description
Fritz Haussmann created his designs from his workshop in Uster Switzerland from 1928 alongside his wife Helen. Fritz won a design award for the stylish design of his Teapots with a long nose spout which is drip-proof. The items he created were a range of Terracotta to a light cream ceramic paste. The Terracotta items are very light in weight and well-formed allowing a tight foot-rim and a strong body. He expanded his range of designs from the simplistic to the more tradition Swiss flowers, including a range with stars, stripes and circles.
As can been seen of the items listed under this well famous Swiss potter each item was hand-painted with the base either painted or impressed with the family logo and the item form. On occasion, one will find a painters name added which is very rare indeed. This elegant and stylish pot screams traditional Swiss taste in design with a Bauhaus form. This is one of his early designs.
