Helmut Schäffenacker had his studio in Ulm Germany crafting many shapes and designs each marked with his studio mark. The black love birds are a large scupture with a feature in the eyes having a white glaze on the outer and leaving the black within the eyes One enjoys the hand sculpture in this piece as it moves with the angles around the birds

The larger bird/dove gives on the feeling of being the male. Not all bird species follow this sort of logic. In places there is a different shading in black with spots of white in a crackle/lave drip. The larger bird/dove has an angled head whereas the small a more rounded head
